The global coronavirus pandemic also tested the patience of the scientists involved in the ReKKs project. After more than two years, the geoecology working group was finally able to carry out another field campaign (08.09. – 24.09.2021) with its Kazakh and Russian partners in Central Asia. A long-awaited event for the cooperation. The mobile wind tunnel at the Baraev Institute in Kazakhstan could finally be used again. The aim of the campaign was to compare the erosion risk of different fallows. Despite difficult weather conditions, the first measurements were successfully carried out. We are now fast-tracking the analysis of the material transported by the wind in order to be well prepared for the next campaign in spring 2022.
