Training of Droughtmap-ASB tool for Central Asia & Workshop on Spatial data analysis at the Urgench State University, Uzbekistan on 21-22 May 2025

A two-day training and workshop titled “Training of Droughtmap-ASB Tool for Central Asia & Workshop on Spatial Data Analysis” was successfully conducted at Urgench State University, Uzbekistan, on 21–22 May 2025.

The event was led by Dr. Muhammad Usman from Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg (Germany) and was part of the Green Central Asia – Phase II initiative, financed by the German Federal Foreign Office and implemented under the coordination of GIZ Uzbekistan.

Approximately 20 students and several faculty members from Urgench State University attended the training. Participants gained hands-on experience with the Droughtmap-ASB tool, focusing on its application in drought monitoring and spatial data analysis for water management.

The Chairman of the Department warmly welcomed Dr. Usman and expressed strong interest in fostering future academic and technical cooperation in the fields of climate resilience, water resource monitoring, and geospatial analysis.

The workshop marked an important step in capacity-building efforts and academic collaboration in the region, contributing to stronger regional engagement on climate and water challenges.
