On 5 February 2025, Prof. Dr Christopher Conrad and Jan Lukas Wenzel, two representatives of the project DiP SMART-Agroforst, visited the ‘Thomas Müntzer’ secondary school in Allstedt to present the project. Prof Dr Bernd Reuter also spoke about his previous work in Allstedt and the importance of intact landscape with well managed woody plants for climate adaptation and the potential for energy self-sufficiency of communities. The focus of this visit was the presentation of results from the course ‘Project Studies – Trees in the Landscape’ by participating geoecology students. We are delighted that new ideas for sustainable landscape design were conveyed through the impulses, the engagement of our students and look forward to further collaboration.
