After a number of minor and major challenges, the entire project team reached a significant milestone. The mobile wind tunnel developed by the UGT and MLU was successfully exported from Germany and imported to Kazakhstan with the support of “Amazone Kazakhstan”, the steppe institute “Barayev” and the project planning of the ReKKS research project. An interdisciplinary and international masterstroke by various players.
Together with Lasse Pein and the Baraev Institute, the mobile wind tunnel was installed on the institute’s premises in August 2019 and then tested on various arable fields. The adaptation measures for the first measurement season during spring tillage 2020 have been started. The challenge will be to adapt the sediment traps to the location and the given soil physical characteristics.
