New Publication: Wind erosion after steppe conversion

The first wind erosion study with a mobile wind tunnel in Kazakhstan by Moritz Koza was published at Soil and Tillage. Vegetation, aggregation, and tillage as erosion-controlling factors were tested. Results showed that mechanical stress from seedbed preparation determines soil susceptibility to wind erosion. Soil loss by tractor tire tracks was severe and must be considered a serious emission source. The publication proves steppe conversion requires early adopters of best-adapted erosion prevention measures.
